Just Another Melodic Monday - I will wait for you (Psalm 130)

20schemes is a ministry in Scotland that seeks to plant churches and evangelise in Scotland's poorest communities, the housing schemes.  Learn more about their work from their website: https://20schemes.com/

Today's song is taken from the 20schemes Music channel on YouTube.  The song is called "I will wait for you" and is written by Keith Getty, Stuart Townend, Jordan Kauflin and Matt Merker.  It's based on Psalm 130, which says in verse 5: "I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope."

Just Another Melodic Monday: Christ Our Hope in Life and Death

"Christ Our Hope in Life and Death" is a modern hymn by a group of songwriters from Getty Music.  It reminds us that, through the resurrection of Christ, we have a hope that enables us to sing in the face of death, for Christ has promised us a glorious future and a life beyond death's reach.

Just Another Melodic Monday - For the Cause

"For the Cause of Christ the King", by Keith and Kristyn Getty and Stuart Townend, calls us to renew our commitment to walk in faith and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Words from the last verse can be offered as a prayer: "Let it be my life's refrain: 'To live is Christ, to die is gain!'

Just Another Melodic Monday - Joy has dawned

Christmas is coming!  So, I thought it was time to start sharing some Christmas songs and hymns on the Melodic Monday blog post, not only for you to enjoy listening to but also to consider sharing with your church if the song is new to you.

This is "Joy has dawned" by Keith and Kristyn Getty from their album "Joy: An Irish Christmas".

Just Another Melodic Monday - May The Peoples Praise You

Written by Keith and Kristyn Getty, "May The Peoples Praise You" is a call to praise God for the blessings that we experience each day through Jesus Christ.

You have called us out of darkest night into Your glorious light
That we may sing the wonders of the risen Christ
May our every breath retell the grace that broke into our strife
With boundless love and deepest joy, with endless life

Just Another Melodic Monday - Jesus shall reign

"Jesus shall reign" is a hymn by Isaac Watts about the return of Christ when "every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord" (Philippians 2:11).  The hymn was written about 300 years ago, but has recently had a chorus added by Keith and Kristyn Getty.

Just Another Melodic Monday - Creation Sings The Father's Song

We sang this together recently.  Although the timing can be a little tricky to learn, the words are a great reminder that Christ came to redeem and renew the whole Creation.

Just Another Melodic Monday - Joy Has Dawned

We recently had a song evening, where we shared and learned new songs together.  "Joy has dawned" is one example, which we began learning in preparation for the Christmas season.

Just Another Melodic Monday - Speak, O Lord

The song "Speak, O Lord" (by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend) seems appropriate for sharing while we continue our series in James and are challenged to have a faith that is visible.

Just Another Melodic Monday - O Church, Arise

Do you ever lend something to a friend, only to forget which friend you lent it to?  I do that a lot!  But last week, I finally discovered which friend I had lent "The Ultimate Keith and Kristyn Getty Songbook" to!

To celebrate the return of this useful CD-Rom resource, here is a song from that collection which encourages us to face the future with the strength that God provides, knowing "the outcome is secure, and Christ will have the prize for which he died."
