Just Another Melodic Monday - I will wait for you (Psalm 130)

20schemes is a ministry in Scotland that seeks to plant churches and evangelise in Scotland's poorest communities, the housing schemes.  Learn more about their work from their website: https://20schemes.com/

Today's song is taken from the 20schemes Music channel on YouTube.  The song is called "I will wait for you" and is written by Keith Getty, Stuart Townend, Jordan Kauflin and Matt Merker.  It's based on Psalm 130, which says in verse 5: "I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope."

Sermon: The King in His Suffering (Psalm 22)

In this sermon, we look at Psalm 22 and learn how we are able to connect the suffering of David with both the suffering of Jesus Christ and our own suffering. When we do that, we discover truths that give us hope for the future and help us to move forward in life after we have experienced unjust suffering.

A Monday Message: Be Encouraged and an Encourager (Psalm 118)

This is a recording of the sermon from the first service to be live-streamed from our lounge last Sunday morning.  Even though we weren't able to meet together as a church, it was still wonderful to be able to connect with so many people over the internet!

The message was based on Psalm 118, and explored the encouragement of community; the encouragement of testimony; and the encouragement of the gospel.

A Midweek Message: My soul will be satisfied (Psalm 63)

In Psalm 63, David describes his search for God during a time of trouble.  In this sermon, we look at how David finds God, and how we can apply David's experience to our own lives today.

A Midweek Message: The wisdom, generosity and kindness of God (Psalm 104)

We had a Harvest Thanksgiving Family Service last Sunday in which we considered the amazing world that God has made.  We looked with the children at Psalm 104 and thought about the amazing animals that God has created and the amazing food that He has provided.

As it was a family service, the message I then shared was shorter than usual.  I focused on the wisdom, generosity and kindness of God displayed both in His creation and in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Midweek Message - Data Processing (Psalm 77)

In Psalm 77, we learn how the Psalmist reacted to a "day of trouble", beginning in distress but then determining to work things out.  He expresses his doubts and then overcomes them by going back to the data.  When things are unclear, start with what you know.

The Midweek Message - A Blessing That Lasts (Psalm 1)

Our entrance into the Psalms begins with the word "blessed"!  Only by listening to the Lord can we find a lasting happiness - a blessedness that will endure even after death.  However, we will not be saved by our imperfect obedience to God's Word.  Instead, we must trust in the Righteous One, Jesus Christ.  He is the Saviour that God has provided and the one in whom we will find a happiness that lasts forever.

Just Another Melodic Monday - The Good Song

We're grateful for the children that come regularly to our Sunday morning services.  Sometimes they outnumber the adults!  As there are so many children present, we always sing a children's song before they go to Sunday school.

Seeds Family Worship take Bible verses and set them to music, and here is one of their songs, combining Psalm 34:10 with Romans 8:28.  The children love this song (and the actions) but singing it as a round is a challenge for some of the adults!
