What was the Holy Spirit doing before Jesus was born? And if the
Christian faith is all about Christ, why should we bother reading the Old
Testament? We consider the answers to these questions and others in this sermon,
based on 1 Peter 1:10-12.

The Midweek Message: Growing up in every way (Ephesians 4)
In Ephesians 4, the Apostle Paul lists teaching roles within the New Testament church. What does the Bible teach us about Apostles, Prophets and Evangelists?
Paul also tells us that one of the main roles of a pastor is to equip believers with the truth, which will then enable them to serve others. The church community grows up as people lovingly minister to each other.

A Midweek Message: The Character and Common Beliefs of a Charismatic Community (Ephesians 4)
In Ephesians 4, we begin to see what doctrine looks like when applied to life. The Apostle Paul describes the character and common beliefs of a charismatic community - a church that believes that all Christians have received gifts from the Holy Spirit which they are to use to serve others.
How do we discern the presence of the Spirit in a church? It will be evident in the way the believers behave towards each other.

Some Words For Thursday: Around The Bible in 80 Days - Day 71: The Holy Spirit and The Apostles
We reach day 71 of our journey "around the Bible in 80 days"! Jesus ascends to heaven, and pours out the promised Holy Spirit. The Apostles share the gospel with the enabling of the Spirit, and church communities begin to form as dwelling places for God.

Some (Recorded!) Words for Wednesday - From the kerbside to the kingdom (Matt.3)
Well, we've now begun to record the messages preached on Sunday and upload them to Youtube. My apologies for the changeable volume level - I've realised that we need to keep the phone by the amp (which doesn't move around) rather than in front of the preacher (who sometimes moves around a lot!)
